A beautiful mid century gold plated eight day timepiece mantel clock
Made by Jaeger LeCoultre, La Chaux-de-Fons, Switzerland.
The finely engineered rectangular gold-plated case has a full rear opening door and is raised on flattened bun feet. The skeletonised Roman chapter ring over the lapis lazuli-effect background has polished gilt dauphine hands and the original plexiglass is signed ‘Jaeger LeCoultre’. The eight day rear wound movement with Swiss lever escapement is signed by the maker.

CONDITON: | The case is in excellent general condition with only age related minor marks and surface scratches. There is a small repair to the upper hinge pin to the rear door however, this is small and is at the rear of the clock and so does not impair the clock's aesthetic appeal. The dial and hands are in excellent condition and there is a rich blue colour to the lapis-effect dial. The movement has been fully cleaned and overhauled. It is running well and will keep within +/- 5 minutes per week. |
