French Miniature Timepiece Carriage Clock with Original Travel Case. This is a very attractive miniature carriage clock in a beautifully executed Anglais Riche case with rounded columns, ripple mouldings, square glazed viewing aperture and hinged Greek key handle to the top. Having the original travelling case is a great bonus, the original leather bound travel case was used to protect the clock while travelling.
The clock has a single going barrel movement with silvered cylinder escapement, a silvered mask to the white enamel Roman dial with outer Arabic minute track as well as blued steel hands. The movement is finely crafted, with precision gears and mechanisms that ensure accurate timekeeping.
This clock was made during the peak of the carriage clock’s popularity in France, and it reflects the meticulous craftsmanship and intricate design that characterised the era.
