With ebony frame to the highly figured brass-strung walnut case, heavy bevelled glass

Inspection panels to the top and sides, raised on adjustable brass feet

The engraved and silvered dial signed by the makers and with subsidiary seconds, state of wind indicator and stop/start lever, blued steel hands.

The substantial chain fusee movement with maintaining power and spotted gilt plates with four very substatial turned brass pillars, the numbered spotted gilt platform with freesprung helical spring with diamond endstone and cut and compensated bimetallic balance to an Earnshaw type spring detent escapement
