A stunning miniature eight day timepiece carriage clock with highly attractive and finely executed Champlevé enamel panels. The colour combination including rich yellow, greens and blues is quite unusual and seldom seen. The richly gilded miniature Corniche case has delicate floral Champlevé enamel panels of yellows, greens and cornflower blue, with a rectangular glazed viewing aperture and hinged carrying handle to the top.

This beautiful clock has a Champlevé Arabic dial with fine spade gilt hands and a single going barrel movement with original silvered platform escapement.

This is a magnificent example of the artistry and skill of French clockmaking during the late 19th century. Its small size, intricate design, and high-quality materials make it a prized possession for any clock collector or lover of fine art.

The case has a good rich colour to the gilding and the panels are complete without damage. The dial is very attractive and compliments the panels. It is in excellent condition and without damage.

The movement has been fully cleaned and overhauled. It is running well and keeping good time. Miniature carriage clocks are not the best timekeepers due to their miniature size. This example will keep within 5 minutes per week which is perfectly acceptable for a clock that is 140 yers old.
