The substantially made and fully glazed case with attractive ripple mouldings, the upper and lower sections repeat button to the top and strike/silent lever to the base. With a beautiful frost gilt mask to the white enamel Roman dial and subsidiary alarm dial below blued steel Breguet hands, the twin barrels movement has an original silvered platform lever escapement striking the hours and repeating the hours and quarters on two blued steel gongs. The backplate signed ‘LeRoy & Fils 13 & 15 Palis Royal Paris’ 10982
This is a very attractive quarter striking carriage clock. The case retains its original gilding and has only minor marks and light rubbing to the edges.
The dial is perfect with no faults or damages. The movement has been fully serviced and strikes and repeats as it should. There is a good rich tone to the gongs. We expect a clock of this style and period to keep within +/- 6 minutes per week.
