Our Mission

The Clock Clinic’s mission

Our customer mission is to give renewed life to old treasures, to celebrate traditional craftsmanship and to enable our customers to enjoy a piece of history and heritage. We delight customers by carefully restoring antique clocks and watches and pride ourselves on being a leader in clock repairs and restoration in the UK. We also sell fine antique and vintage clocks and watches across a wide variety of price points. Ultimately we are committed to building long-term relationships and being a part of family traditions that cross generations.

Our employee mission is to support existing horologists and encourage new people into the trade, keeping the traditional clock and watch making techniques and skills alive. Our business mission is to be a leader in maintaining the tradition of clockmaking, to appeal across generations and to keep heritage alive through our careful restoration.

Our Director

Alastair Chandler

Alastair Chandler, Director previously worked at The Clock Clinic from 1994 to 2007 as a Clock Restorer and Front of House Manager, leaving to join Christie’s King Street as International Clock Specialist where he was involved with world-renowned collections. He then moved to Shanghai, China working as a Clocks and Watch consultant for high net worth individuals and companies.

Alastair has run his own business Chandler Clocks and regularly consults for some for the main International salerooms as well as private collectors worldwide.

He has 30 years experience in the field of antique clocks and watches and is a Liveryman of clockmakers company and was a steward to the 2023 Master and Honorary Fellow of The British Horological Institute (FBHI)

Alastair Chandler is a regular on-camera specialist for BBC’s Antiques Roadshow.  Since starting on the show in 2011 he has assessed, valued and presented many fascinating and varied clocks and watches in stunning locations.
